Senior Developer

The successful applicant will maintain and add to a large catalog of HTML5 Single Page Applications.

These applications share a substantial volume of TypeScript organized into a hierarchy of shared libraries using DRY computer science principles.  However the catalog of applications is NOT a set of cloned applications with minor modifications / configuration per application. Each application is a separate “off the shelf” application providing unique value to solve unique business objectives.  Each application is deployed to many customers and must be end user configurable for each deployment. Shared libraries are used to aggressively minimize duplication of code between applications.  As a result, qualified candidates will have substantial competence in not only HTML, CSS, CSS preprocessors, and Javascript, but also object oriented design, Typescript and Computer Science.

Qualified candidates must be able to code and think globally across the suite of applications as well as locally to meet use cases and requirements applicable to an entire market for the current application under development. While the experience of a full stack developer with knowledge of .NET may be useful, we are looking for someone who can maximize their productivity on client side technologies.

Our Development team mainly resides in the Ann Arbor, MI area. Living here is not a requirement, but is a plus.

Job Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of Computer Science principles. Specifically, the ability to understand and make coding and architectural choices based on understanding underlying costs and principles of core technologies and code reuse patterns.
  • Strong background in UI development based on the Angular framework and associated technologies (Angular 6+, HTML5, CSS, TypeScript/JavaScript)
  • Colocation is not required, however applicants within the Detroit/Ann-Arbor, MI region are preferred
  • While efficient and effective use of HTML5, CSS, and CSS preprocessors is critical, it is more important that the applicant have competent computer science skills as over 75% of your time will be maintaining a large object oriented Typescript codebase.
  • GIS and basic math skills including vector and matrix algebra is a plus
