• New South Wales Rural Fire Service (Australia) First Responders to Utilize Adashi Command and Control (C&C) and Adashi FirstResponse MDT

Adashi Systems (Adashi), a Versaterm Public Safety Company, announced a long-term agreement with the New South Wales Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) to digitize mission-critical systems for fire and emergency responses across New South Wales, Australia.

In partnership with Fujitsu Australia, Adashi will develop, install, and maintain Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) hardware and associated software on more than 5,000 NSW RFS vehicles running Adashi C&C and Adashi FirstResponse MDT in support of the world’s largest volunteer fire service with over 75,000 volunteers and operating more than 6,000 vehicles including nine aircraft, 24 marine craft and 50 bulk water carriers.

In a region covering some 300,000 square miles where frequent and extensive bushfires pose a large-scale threat to communities, wildlife and the environment, NSW RFS can leverage the new software solution to improve incident response and management as well as help make informed and coordinated decisions to improve outcomes across the state.

Adashi’s C&C and FirstResponse MDT was chosen by NSW RFS following recommendations from the NSW Bushfire Inquiry in the wake of the devastating 2019-2020 Black Summer Bushfires, the most severe fire season ever recorded in NSW.

“Following the NSW Bushfire Inquiry, we’ve been working with the NSW Government and our partners to advance the recommendations set out in the report and ultimately improve how we plan, prepare and respond to bushfires,” said Rob Rogers, NSW RFS Commissioner. “Our partnership with Fujitsu and Adashi is one example of how we’re achieving this, and we believe digitizing our operations will help us be more agile and enhance our firefighting capability.”
